Nouvelle version du protocole Bluetooth

Le 17 décembre 2009 (un jeudi), le Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group) a annoncé la version 4 du protocole sans fil Bluetooth [1]. Ce protocole permet les échanges radio d'informations entre les différents matériels équipés. Cette nouvelle version propose surtout une consommation faible de l'énergie.

Est-ce un protocole ouvert ? Pas exactement, car il y a une certification à obtenir, délivrée par le SIG, un groupe restreint de fabricants (dont Ericsson, Intel, Lenovo, Microsoft, Motorola, Nokia et Toshiba sont dans le groupe des promoteurs). L'approche est la même que pour l'USB 3.0.
